Teignside Pets is proud to support the Cinnamon Trust – the only specialist national charity for the elderly and terminally ill and their much loved, much needed companion animals.

More about the Cinnamon Trust

Their aim is to keep owners and pets together for as long as possible, with the help of a national network of volunteers. They help when day to day care poses a problem. That might be because of illness, injury or just the fact that we all get older eventually. A number of things can affect your ability to look after your pets and four legged companions.

It’s a unique charity, whose purpose is to relieve owners from worrying about the welfare of their pets, both during and after their own lifetime.

A large number of elderly or ill pet owners become very worried about their ability to care for their pets, and feel that their only option is to rehome them. That’s where the Cinnamon Trust’s national network of dedicated volunteers steps in, to offer support to enable them to stay together.

Volunteers will walk the dog for a housebound owner. They’ll foster pets when owners need hospital care. Helpers will fetch the cat food, even clean out the bird cage or litter trays. Volunteers might foster pets as one of their family when owners face a spell in hospital, or they could take pets to the vet.

How you can help the Cinnamon Trust

Cinnamon Trust are always looking for volunteers.

Even if you can only spare an hour a week they would love to hear from you. All volunteers help in the ways that are most appropriate to them.

They receive requests to help on a daily basis. If you would like to walk a dog in your local area, please register as a volunteer and they will find a dog for you to walk.

Short term fosterers are also needed, across the whole of the UK, to look after a pet when their owner is in hospital. If you would like to become a fosterer, please register as a volunteer.
